Halloween 2000! It only gets better...

much larger version unfortunately.)
This year, we added some more candles, made custom piping
for the smoke machine, and David completely rebuilt the "Tunnel
of Terror", allowing us to grab at peoples legs from
outside the black cloth, and allowing for easier disassembly.
Also, I found a bunch of poseable skeletons on sale for about
$5 each, and you can see one of them on the left. The turnout
was excellent, but the only hitch was that we lost our guardian
angel to escort any scared children through the graveyard!

This is a good shot of the entryway for the kids. You can
see the skeletal "Tunnel of Terror" on the left,
which is covered in black cloth and decorated with spiderwebs
lit with blacklights and strobes. At the end is a fortune
teller who wisely suggests that candy may be in their future.
Kids love it, but a few adults checking it out have soiled
themselves going through this thing.
Kids older than about 10 are encouraged to walk through the
candlelit graveyard to the front door where we give out serious
candy!

On the left you can see a fog machine warming up. This year
was excellent, no wind. Last year there was a light breeze that
carried the fog off into the streets and obscured any vision
for about a block. This year we were wise and notified the fire
department :) |

Just another shot of the yard. Oh yeah, we cover the garage
with a spider web and have an actor in the garage with silly
string. The kids are so amused about the spider they tend
to forget the coffin in the driveway, which of course has
a live "dead" person in it.
We've had to chase a few kids for a block or more to give
their dropped candy bag back.

The gallows is a cute addition from a few years ago, and we
usually hang a stuffed person from it. No, we can't hang Barney,
cause he's already dead (his tombstone is in the graveyard!) |
| Of course it got busy real quick at dark, but we do have this
picture, showing some of the candles before we fired up the
smog generator. |

Here are my two main accomplices for the Halloween
spectacle, Dave and Kim! They have a wonderful marriage,
and play nicely around toxic chemicals too! Oh yeah, notice
the spider web in the background on the garage :)

These are a few select pictures from the 1999 Halloween presentation.
We had a great time, but with no fence and poor piping for the
fog, it was total blind chaos! |
| This is an overexposed picture from the 1999 Halloween that
was just soooo awesome that I had to post it! |

This is just a general panoramic pic. Feel free to click on
some of the images to see larger versions, and take a look at
the tombstones. I try and add one or two each year. |
